Line Shack Winery is located in San Antonio Valley in the southern end of Monterey County. In the old west, a “line shack” was a small cabin built on the open range where the cowboys could take shelter from the rain and cold. When Bob and Daphne Balentine first discovered their small ranch in San Antonio Valley the only building on the property was this rundown cabin that they affectionately called the “Line Shack”. After they remodeled the building it became a gathering place for friends and family and is now the Tasting Room.
The Balentines have been making wine for almost 20 years and in 2004 they decided to quit their day jobs and dive into making a living with their passion for fine wine and good food. By 2006 they brought

All of the fruit in Line Shack wines comes from the southern Monterey County with a focus on the San Antonio Valley AVA which has a warm climate and proved to be great for growing Bordeaux and Rhone style wines with rich flavors and full body. They are working with their fellow growing partners to strive towards sustainable farming.

This Sauvignon Blanc has a delightful crisp acidity with aromas and flavors of white peach, nectarine, pineapple and citrus. It would pair nicely with crab and seafood. The price is $14.
